No time to read? No problem.  I’ve added an audio version, so I’ll read it to you!

I recently heard someone say, “In these trying and horrendous times it is important to connect with those who choose light over darkness.”

I agree that it’s important for us to choose “light over darkness,” good over bad, healthy over unhealthy, etc.

It’s also important to be selective about how we spend our time and who we spend it with.  We become the company we keep.

These “times” are only trying and horrendous when you expose yourself to media messages that are designed to keep you frozen in complacency and compliance.

Breathless media reports and popular books often perpetuate the belief that we’ve reached the apex of humanity.  I was a journalist for 20 years and my job was to perpetuate what I now call the FUD Factor (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt).

I now broadcast a new message – and I made it rhyme so it can be memorable and musical to encourage people to “take the diet that really works… a media fast!”

“Don’t watch, read, or listen to news and feel how much your life improves.”

Things are the same as they’ve always been and always will be. You’re just like the people who came before you – and we are just but a brief stopover until the people, just like us, who will come after.

The earth abides forever, but we will come and go. While we’re here, let’s just do our best… and be kind – to ourselves & others.

Balance the books of your life at the end of your day.  And, at the beginning of your day, ask yourself: “What can I do, from where I am, with what I have, TODAY!?”

We are all on our own unique path, but you are never alone. Keep seeking, keep learning, and keep showing up for yourself.
